Karla Hernando Flores was born in Mexico City in 1979. Se graduated form the  “Universidad de las Americas-Puebla” with the title of Visual Artist with mayor in Painting. Later, she obtained a grant to study the Master in Information Design in the same University.

 

She has been part of an Guapamacátaro Art Residency in Michoacán, where she developed a project with the community and asist three times to complete it. She was part of the staff group in a contemporary art event called Plataforma in Puebla with more of 150 nacional & international artists. 

 

She was art & design coordinator in a center in Mérida called Habla: the center of language & culture where she designed a space called  ”the Creative Space: the summer lab school". Artists from different places could come and work with kids during the summer. 

 

She is founder and coordinator of A'jureka Art Residency in Cefalú, Italy where she receives artists from different countries during a month and they do their own projects and at the end they have an open house to show their work.

 

She has shown her art work in different art shows of the mexican republic and in Salamanca, spain and Chicago. She obtained a grant from NALAC & CAPE to work in a mexican-american school as artist in residence.
